\u201cYou can\u2019t handle the Truth.\u201d\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Lately, this line from \u201cA Few Good Men\u201d has been resonating in my mind like some Eveready tuning fork… it just keeps on ringing. And it rings true.<\/p>\n

What is the Truth that I can\u2019t handle? I wish the Universe would be a bit more specific sometimes. I can\u2019t handle the truth that I am totally in charge of how I react to my world. That would be just too much, wouldn\u2019t it?\u00a0 I know I couldn\u2019t handle that.<\/p>\n

Heck, I can\u2019t even handle the \u201cP\u201d word that has been thrown at me all my seeming life. The \u201cP Word\u201d? \u201cPotential\u201d.\u00a0 As in \u201cYou have so much potential\u201d.<\/p>\n

1. possible, as opposed to actual<\/p>\n

2. capable of being or becoming<\/p>\n

3. expressing possibility<\/p>\n

4. a latent excellence or ability that may or may not be developed.<\/p>\n

In physics<\/a>, potential energy<\/em> is the energy<\/a> stored in a body or in a system due to its position in a force field<\/a> or due to its configuration.<\/p>\n

What does this all mean? It means that I can NEVER, EVER live up to my POTENTIAL, because of the Laws of Conservation of Energy. There Mom and Dad \u2013 NOW are you satisfied?<\/p>\n

Because no matter where I am, there is always the potential to do more, to be more, than I was just a minute ago. This should be a relief actually. Wait a minute. This SHOULD be a relief, actually\u2026..<\/p>\n

If there is always more, then I can let go of the disappointment I have in not living up to my \u201cfull potential\u201d! Maybe this is \u2013 pardon my pun \u2013 POTENTIALLY a good thing to realize!\u00a0 But if I can never live up to my potential, then how do I know if I am living at all? Well, some things do seem to change. And sometimes I notice that life is reflecting my intention for it. Like I said \u2013 \u201cI can\u2019t handle it if I am totally in charge of how I react to my world. That would be just too much, wouldn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWHY NOT ASK?\u201d (Scary booming voice from above or somewhere nearby\u2026.)<\/p>\n

\u201cAsk what?\u201d (Timid, potentially scared voice)<\/p>\n

\u201cASK FOR WHAT YOU DESIRE.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought you already KNEW all that?\u201d (Questioning voice) \u2013 aside \u2013 \u201cactually I hope that not everything is seen, if you know what I mean\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIT\u2019S OK TO WANT SOME STUFF TO MAKE YOU HAPPY. YOU JUST NEED TO BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE IT, THAT PERHAPS I HAVE YOUR HAPPINESS IN MIND ALL THE TIME\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat would be cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

So here we go. \u201cAsk, Believe, Receive.\u201d Right? Sounds like some channeled message from\u2026 wait a minute….<\/p>\n

Maybe I could handle the Truth if it were that simple. Maybe I could believe enough for at least something little to happen\u2026 like that I could get over my fear of revealing my innermost thoughts in front of people.<\/p>\n

First I have to be unafraid to ask. I wonder if I don\u2019t really believe that I should be happy, and that\u2019s why I don\u2019t always ask for what I really want\u2026. I really want to be happy! Really! I want more money and I want a partner who gives\u2026 great conversation\u2026 and I want life to flow easily from one thing to another.<\/p>\n

OK, now I\u2019ve asked. Now what?<\/p>\n

BELIEVE.<\/p>\n

If I had enough courage to ask, I guess I could go ahead and believe. Believe what? Believe that it is OK to ask and that the result might be\u2026 that I receive! Now THAT is some POTENTIAL that I could handle!<\/p>\n

ASK. BELIEVE. RECEIVE. Simple.<\/p>\n

I am excited about the potential of this. Maybe, just maybe, I CAN handle the Truth!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
